On purpose and direction

It's a common thing to feel despair. You ask yourself what is the point. What is my purpose. This is because you are looking for peace.

Peace is not found where you would expect it. Don't look for a purpose. That is much too strong a word. Look for a direction. You don't want to be a purposeful person. You want to be a directed person.

If you decide you have a purpose, you will feel pressure, because a purpose is something you have to fulfill. A purpose is something you have to perform. A purpose is something you have to prove yourself through.

It's tough to change your purpose. It's easy to change your direction.

When you are directed, you can relax. You can let go of the need to perform. You can let go of the need to prove yourself. You can let go of the need to be someone. You can just be.

As long as you have direction, you are not lost, and aimlessly drifting. With direction you have also have a compass, and you can navigate your life and effectively make decisions.
